The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, aka FRCP, govern court procedures for civil lawsuits. Although most states have their own rules of civil procedure, most state rules are similar to the FRCP.On December 1, 2006, a new set of revisions dealing with electronic discovery took effect. These revisions now make it easier for the courts and litigating parties to manage electronic records and discovery around a common set of regulations.
